Preliminary Procedure

Disable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling.

Windshield Side Garnish Molding Assembly

ProcedureStarting at the top, gently pull on the garnish molding to disengage the clips.Disengage tether clip by rotating the tab 90 degrees and pulling out of insert onthe molding.Tabs must be installed prior to retainer clips.Tabs to be fully seated in instrument panel trim panel retainer and valance panel.Disconnect the electrical connector.When replacing the windshield side garnish molding, transfer all necessary components.The tether clip at the upper portion of the garnish molding MUST be replaced if thetab is damaged or the base of the clip is removed from the sheet metal.
