ALL wheel/tire assemblies must have a RFV within spec beforebeing mounted on vehicle.
Important:If a wheel/tire assembly is not within the RFV specificationafter match mounting, the tire must be returned to the tiremanufacturer. DO NOT install tire/wheel assembly on a vehicle if itexceeds the RFV specification.
RFV is unrelated to tire balance.RFV is identifying the stiff portion of the tire anddetermining if it is within spec.If RFV is too high, it will result in a vibrationcondition.Do not attempt to measure RFV on tires that have temporaryflat spots. If necessary, drive the vehicle to relieve the flatspots.Prior to measuring for RFV, the tires must be inflated to thespecification on the label.Passenger Cars (including Crossover Vehicles) = 18lbs.Truck Tires: (P) - metric = 24 lbs.(LT) - metric = 35 lbs.
It is recommended that RFV measurements are made prior toinstallation of balance weights. Once adequate road force levelshave been achieved, move on to balance the assembly.
