ProcedureRemove the upper liftgate trim finish panel. Refer toLiftgate Upper Trim Finish Panel Replacement.Disconnect the anti-pinch guard electrical connector.Begin from the bottom of the applique using a trim type tool,release the retainers working upward toward the rear endspoiler.Disconnect the anti-pinch sensor electrical connector priorto removing the side applique from the vehicle.When the last retainer is released, lift the bottom edge ofthe applique and remove from under the rear edge of the rear endspoiler.Disengage the pinch guard grommet and guide the electricalconnector through the liftgate panel.Replace damaged or broken retainers as needed.
