Removal Procedure
Warning:Refer toBrake Fluid Irritant Warning.
Caution:Refer toBrake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer toLifting and Jacking the Vehicle.Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer toTire and Wheel Removal and Installation.Disconnect the brake pipe fitting-(1)-from the brake hose.Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Remove the brake hose bolt-(1)-securing the brake hose bracket to the wheelhouse.
Remove the brake hose upper control arm bracket bolt-(1)-and nut.
Remove the brake hose fitting bolt-(1)-from the brake hose and the caliper.Remove the brake hose-(2)-from the caliper.
Note:Do not reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.
Remove and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets-(3).Remove the brake hose.Installation ProcedureInstall the brake hose.
Note:Install new brake hose fitting gaskets.
Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt-(1)-to the brake hose-(2)-with-2-new brake hosefitting gaskets-(3).Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.
Install the brake hose assembly and tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to-52-Y (38-lb-ft).Note:The brake hose bracket must be installed ahead of the upper control arm bracket andparallel to the upper control arm with the head of the bolt facing the rear of thevehicle.
Install the brake hose upper control arm bracket bolt-(1)-and nut and tighten to-25-Y (18-lb-ft).Install the brake hose bolt-(1)-and tighten to-16-Y (12-lb-ft).
Connect the brake pipe fitting-(1)-and tighten to-18-Y (13-lb-ft).Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer toHydraulic Brake System Bleeding.Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer toTire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
