Component Name

Preliminary ProceduresPlace drain pans under the vehicle.Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer toIntake Manifold Cover Replacement.Remove as much power steering fluid from the upper power steering fluid reservoiras possible.Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer toTire and Wheel Removal and Installation.Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump pulley only. Refer toDrive Belt Replacement.

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose

Procedure

Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the lower power steeringfluid reservoir.

Power Steering Fluid Cooling Pipe

Procedure

Disconnect the power steering fluid cooling pipe from the lower power steering fluidreservoir.

Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose

Procedure

Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump.

Refer toPower Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement.

Power Steering Pump Bolt (Qty:-3)

Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.

Tip:Note the routing for installation. The left side bolt has a spacer.

Tighten

22-Y (16-lb-ft)

ProcedureRemove the power steering pump through the right front wheel well opening.Transfer the power steering pump pulley. Refer toPower Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.Transfer the lower power steering fluid reservoir. Refer toPower Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement - Lower.Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer toPower Steering System Bleeding.Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
