Warning:Following the deployment of a side impact air bag, inspectthe following parts for damage. Replace these parts ifnecessary:

The seat cushion frameThe seat recliner, if equippedThe seat adjusterThe seat back frame

Failure to do so may cause future personal injury.

Warning:Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint side impactsensor (SIS). Before applying power to the SIS make sure that it issecurely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installationprocedures could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, orunnecessary SIR system repairs.

Warning:Do not repair or replace the seat stitching or seams in theseat back trim cover with an internal mounted seat side airbagmodule. Replace the complete seat back trim cover from the OEM.Non-OEM seat stitching may cause improper airbag deployment whichcould result in personal injury.

Preliminary ProcedureDisable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling.Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer toDriver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation.Remove the driver or passenger seat back cushion cover and pad. Refer toDriver or Passenger Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement.

Driver or Passenger Seat Side Inflatable Restraint Module Nut (Qty:-2)

Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.

Tighten

9-Y (80-lb-in)
