Run the engine until the power steering fluid reaches about80°C (170°F).Turn the engine OFF.If the power steering fluid reservoir is covered by a shieldor a cover, remove the shield or the cover, as applicable.Clean the power steering fluid reservoir and the reservoircap.Remove the reservoir cap.
Note:Inspect the power steering pump fluid level at regularintervals.
Inspect the power steering fluid level in the reservoir or onthe cap stick, as applicable. Ensure that the fluid level is at theHOT/FULL/MAX mark on the cap stick or on the reservoir, asapplicable.Caution:When adding fluid or making a complete fluid change, alwaysuse the proper power steering fluid. Failure to use the properfluid will cause hose and seal damage and fluid leaks.
Add power steering fluid if necessary. Refer toAdhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.Install the reservoir cap.If you removed a shield or a cover, install the shield or thecover, as applicable.Flushing
